Legendary Acting Coach To The Stars Milton Katselas Releases His New Book: Acting Class: Take a Seat

Acting Class: Take a Seat by Milton Katselas, the last of the Acting Studio’s great coaches and the founder of the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Previously available only to his students, Acting Class was originally a ring-bound course book containing concepts and methods that helped a generation of actors flourish on the stage and screen. Now for the first time, this all-encompassing book is available to the general public, inviting readers to enroll in the legendary acting class. The no-nonsense Katselas covers not only techniques and methods but also includes valuable discussions on the attitude any artist needs to fulfill his or her dream.

“The brilliance and insight of Milton Katselas has changed my life, Doris Roberts, Everybody Loves Raymond.”

However, Acting Class: Take a Seat is not only a powerful guide for actors, but for anyone whose career requires them to speak in front of a group. The tools taught in this book are life skills that anyone from any field can utilize in their everyday life.

Under the direction of Katselas, Blythe Danner won a Tony Award, Eileen Heckert an Academy Award, and Bette Davis an Emmy Award. The list of other A-list actors who benefited from his tutelage includes Alec Baldwin, George Clooney, Kate Hudson, Chris Noth, Jorge Garcia and Kim Cattrall, among many, many others. His last book, Dreams into Action, was a New York Times bestseller and international sensation.
“Milton Katselas is everything you need in a professional acting teacher.” Alec Baldwin

MILTON KATSELAS’ career as a director began in the 1960s with the original off-Broadway production of Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story. He studied with Lee Strasberg and Sanford Meisner at the Actor’s Studio, was nominated for a Tony Award in 1969 for Butterflies Are Free and has directed over sixty plays in New York and Los Angeles. He has also directed feature films for Columbia and United Artists, as well as television movies for CBS and Fox. In 1978 he founded the Beverly Hills Playhouse, an invite-only workshop regarded as a touchstone by the actors who study there. Katselas will be opening their second BHP in NYC this fall. Katselas lives in Beverly Hills, California.

The book is available in bookstores and at www.amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com
