Atlantique City Antiques and Collectibles Show Returns Oct. 18-19 with The American Presidential Experience

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Atlantique City Antiques & Collectibles Show returns Oct. 18-19 to the Atlantic City Convention Center with spectacular new dealers and “The American Presidential Experience”, a sweeping exhibit that dazzled audiences at the Democratic and Republican National Conventions earlier this year.

Atlantique City maintains its reputation as one of the most diverse antiquing events in the country with the return of more than 400 top shelf dealers and free appraisals by celebrity experts. Attendees will again enjoy free furniture delivery within a 200-mile radius of Atlantic City and profit from two $500 shopping spree drawings on Saturday and Sunday. Collectors and dealers of every sort will benefit from a newly unveiled Atlantique City Resource Center, a spot were cutting edge technology enhances collectors and collections.

More than 400 fine antiques dealers specialize in 18th-, 19th- and early 20th-century antiques and artworks – including Tiffany glass and metal work, American folk art, antique toys, estate jewelry, curiosities, pop culture collectibles, glass, porcelain and silver. Exhibitors come from 41 states, Canada, Great Britain and Europe.

This season’s special exhibit is sponsored by WorthPoint.com, the Internet’s largest social network for researching the worth of antiques and collectibles. Atlantique City will host some of the most popular aspects of the larger “American Presidential Experience” exhibit. These include a replica of the White House’s Oval Office, an exhibition of the inaugural gowns worn by First Ladies and a selection of chairs once owned by the country’s commanders in chief. Special highlights include a rocking chair owned by JFK, a wheel chair owned by Franklin Roosevelt and historical documents from George Washington and Paul Revere.

“Adults and children will be fascinated and inspired by the power of the American Presidency," said Jim Warlick, owner and executive producer of The American Presidential Experience. "Outside of the Smithsonian Museum, the American Presidential Experience is the largest exhibition on the Presidency in the country, and includes a wonderful educational mix of activities while showcasing some of the most important historical moments of America's rich political history."

Among the eight appraisers on hand for the fall event include Kyle Husfloen, editor of the Antique Trader Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide; Paula Fox, a gemologist and vice president of the International Society of Appraisers, Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter and Christopher Kent, host of the award winning, nationally syndicated radio show Antique Talk and host of the popular television show Flea Market Mania on the Americanlife Television Network. The appraisal booth continues to be one of the most appealing aspects of the show.

“People love learning about their antiques and our exhibitors have greatly benefited from the influx of new and interesting merchandise brought to the show,” Show Promoter Eric Bradley said. “This is especially true as we see changes in the economy and the collecting hobby in general.”

Advance ticket holders save $5 off box-office prices and can shop one hour before general admission tickets go on sale. Advance tickets can be delivered via email at www.atlantiquecity.com or by calling (800) 526-2724.
