It's time to get "Rattled!" This weekend marks the grand opening of Wild Adventures' all-new family thrill ride with a series of events including a Passholder sneak preview on Friday and grand opening activities on Saturday.

"'The Rattler' is a fantastic family thrill ride and an exciting addition to the park," states Bob Montgomery, General Manager. "It's a great choice as Wild Adventures' first new ride in three years."


"The Rattler" is a spinning swing ride designed to give passengers the free-fall feel of a roller coaster's first hill over and over again. Twenty- four passengers are loaded onto the round pendulum, the floor drops out from under them and the ride begins. Swinging higher and higher until almost upside down, the pendulum also spins as it swings.


Passholders will have the first chance to experience "The Rattler" on Friday with a special "Passholder-Only" preview. The ride opens to the public this Saturday.


The opening of "The Rattler" marks the park's first new ride in three years and the first major addition to the park since it was purchased by Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation last fall. Additional improvements include an expanded animal collection, a new daily show line-up featuring the VeggieTales(R) and bigger festivals for summer, Halloween and Christmas.
