Saturday night in Atlantic City is gearing up to be the hot spot for the summer. The club of choice is the Casbah at the Taj Mahal. This past Saturday night I witnessed the awesome energy of 'the Animated LA DJ' Timbo, aka Tim Scarne the star of the hit cult film LA DJ the movie. For almost five hours straight he brought the house down with a mixture of music videos that kept even the GoGo dancers on their toes the whole night. One patron at the bar, said 'my girls and I came to see Timbo and expected to stay for an hour or so. We've been here for 3 hours and my feet hurt from dancing so much. He’s got more energy than any DJ I have ever seen.'
The Casbah has almost a dozen video screens and Timbo's arsenal of mash up music videos kept your brain dancing with brilliant mixes and visuals. Despite some technical issues, Timbo states 'The place was jumping and I appreciate the love I got from AC.' It helps that the venue has a state of the art light intelligent show, cameras on the dancers, DJ and a ton of special effects including a nitrogen fogger and confetti shots. I asked Timbo if he would be back and he quickly reminds me of his busy schedule. 'Everyone was great to work with here. I'm in talks for monthly residencies with a few east coast venues right now, so I'm not sure. I love to come back if my schedule permits. '
Until then, keep checking his my space page for his tour schedule (www.myspace.com/djtimbo), as it's one DJ show you won't want to miss. With his debut artist album in the works and his first single appropriately entitled “GoGo Girl” to be released on iTunes sometime in May, things are only going to heat up this summer for Timbo.
