Life After People Tops for Cable on Monday Night


LIFE AFTER PEOPLE garnered the biggest audience for any program ever on The History Channel® and was the top show on all of cable when it premiered Monday night, January 21st at 9pm ET/PT. The two-hour special, which looks through history’s lens to provide clues to what would happen if humans vanished from the earth, was watched by 5.4 million total viewers and earned a 3.9 household rating, the highest ever for The History Channel.



“Steeped in history, Life After People poses compelling questions about who we are as a people and where we’re going. This is a great example of how we are dimensionalizing history to make it more active, immersive and personal. We could not be more thrilled that Life After People connected with so many of our viewers,” said Nancy Dubuc, Executive Vice President and General Manager of The History Channel. "After coming off our most successful year ever in 2007, this is great way to start off the New Year.”



In addition, Life After People scored 2.7 million Adult 25-54 viewers and 2.8 million Adult 18-49 viewers, both also tops for the night in cable.
