SIRIUS Satellite Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) , the Official Satellite Radio Partner of NASCAR, announced today that the critically-acclaimed talk show Tony Stewart Live, hosted by two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart and veteran broadcaster Matt Yocum, will return for its second season on SIRIUS NASCAR Radio on Monday, February 4, 2008 (8:00 pm - 10:00 pm ET). The exclusive weekly program moves to Monday nights from last year's Tuesday night timeslot.
Tony Stewart Live first debuted January 2, 2007, providing SIRIUS listeners with the ultimate insider's perspective on auto racing. The two-hour show airs exclusively on SIRIUS NASCAR Radio, channel 128, throughout the season and features Stewart and Yocum taking calls from listeners, talking with prominent guests and covering the spectrum of motorsports. The show concluded a successful first season with a star-studded special broadcast during NASCAR Champions Week in New York City, as Stewart and Yocum handed out their inaugural "Stewie Awards," honoring the best, boldest and funniest moments of the 2007 NASCAR season.
"It's hard to believe we're already starting our second year on SIRIUS," Stewart said. "I felt more and more comfortable with each show last year, as Matt and I learned something new every time we hung up the headphones. Our second year on the air will be even better. Our rookie 'stripe' is officially off. The show is a great way for us to connect with NASCAR fans, and really, fans of any type of racing. It's two of the best spent hours of my week."
"The first season of Tony Stewart Live was a huge success and we intend to build on that in season two," said Scott Greenstein, SIRIUS' President, Entertainment and Sports. "Tony and Matt truly dedicate themselves to presenting our subscribers with two hours of informative and entertaining radio, week in and week out, giving NASCAR fans the unique experience of interacting with one of the sport's biggest stars."
Stewart is a two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion (2002, 2005), one of only 15 drivers in the history of NASCAR to win multiple Cup Series titles. In addition to his achievements on the NASCAR circuit, Stewart is the first and only driver to have won championships in stock cars, Indy cars and in USAC's Midget, Sprint and Silver Crown divisions. In 1997, Stewart joined Joe Gibbs Racing, running five NASCAR Nationwide Series races before a 22-race NASCAR Nationwide Series slate in 1998. In 1999, Stewart moved to the pinnacle of motorsports - the Sprint Cup Series. During an extraordinary rookie campaign, Stewart won three races, was crowned Rookie of the Year and became the first driver to complete both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca- Cola 600 on the same day. Currently, Stewart has 32 Sprint Cup wins, 10 poles, 119 top-fives and 191 top-10s in 320 career starts.
As the Official Satellite Radio Partner of NASCAR, SIRIUS broadcasts every NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race live on SIRIUS NASCAR Radio, the only radio channel dedicated to NASCAR 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
