Whether 50 Cent or Kanye West sells more albums this week is still being decided, but one thing is for sure - their appearance together on BET's 106 & PARK along with a surprise visit from Jay-Z, was a ratings knockout. The ever-competitive pair helped 106 & PARK score a 1.2 rating, with 1 million households and 1.3 million total viewers tuning in to see the two hip-hop heavyweights come together for the "Clash of the Titans." Tuesday's show was BET's #1 Music Series Telecast of this season, up 89% versus the show's Tuesday season-to-date average and up 92% versus the show's episode last year. The "Clash of the Titans" episode is also the #2 Music Series Telecast in BET history, behind 106 & PARK's tribute to Aaliyah on Aug. 27, 2001.
Also worth noting was that 106 & PARK proved to be a strong lead-in for HELL DATE, which earned its #1 telecast with a 1.2 rating and was enjoyed by 1.1 million households and 1.4 million viewers. This airing of HELL DATE performed 58% higher than its usual Tuesday average within this timeslot. It is also the #1 Entertainment Series Telecast ever for the month of September.
