With DIY Network’s first interactive television series, Blog Cabin, the whole world was invited to weigh in on key design elements of a fabulous log cabin nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains, as well as enter for a chance to win it! On Sunday, Oct. 28 during a Blog Cabin Fever Marathon (3-10 p.m. ET), the network will announce the lucky winner of DIY’s first Blog Cabin. Viewers will not want to miss the build of DIY’s Blog Cabin from start to finish, as well as find out who will win the cabin valued at $330,700 during the finale episode at 9:30 p.m. ET.
DIY’s Blog Cabin is an eclectic mix of modern, traditional and rustic, and was determined by "citizen design." Earlier this year, DIYnetwork.com visitors and bloggers cast more than 4.2 million votes on 13 features ranging from the floor plan, roof, countertops, front door, and more! The 1600 sq. ft., 2-story log cabin on 1.17 acres resulted in 3.2 million sweepstakes entries. Twenty-five percent of visitors to DIYnetwork.com interacted with the Blog Cabin content, including a 360-degree tour of the completed cabin; multiple photo galleries; video exclusives for each episode of the TV series; a show schedule; a resource guide; and of course, a Blog Cabin Blog!
Each episode of the 13-part interactive series followed host Amy Devers as she worked closely with other DIY Network experts, such as licensed contractor Amy Matthews (Bathroom Renovations, Today Show Tips), professional landscaper Ahmed Hassan (The Dirt On…), licensed contractor Jason Cameron (Desperate Landscapes, Man Caves) and more, to bring the mountain retreat to life.
