Sundance Channel has acquired the eight-part Australian sketch series “Big Girl’s Blouse” featuring the early work of Jane Turner, Gina Riley and Magda Szubanski of “Kath and Kim”. The series will make its U.S. television premiere on Sundance Channel in 2008. The announcement was made by Laura Michalchyshyn, Executive Vice President and GM, Programming and Creative Affairs, Sundance Channel. Sundance Channel previously aired the first three seasons of “Kath and Kim.”

The deal was negotiated by Sundance Channel Senior Vice President, Acquisitions, Program Planning and Scheduling Christian Vesper on behalf of Sundance Channel and Victoria Baldock of Verve Entertainment International on behalf of “Big Girl’s Blouse”.
This sketch series from Australian comedians Turner, Riley and Szubanski introduced audiences to the characters Kath, Kim and Sharon of the beloved Australian comedy “Kath and Kim”. The series features sketches mimicking the television industry and other aspects of Australian life. In addition to the hilarious antics of Kath and Kim, “Big Girl’s Blouse” features ultimate sleaze Neville Crawley, the Entrepreneurs Wives on the Run, Lynn & Carmel – the desperate housewives, Jilly & Prue – classy ladies who lunch, and the vivacious Margaret Bland’s School of Dance. “Big Girl’s Blouse” stars and is written and produced by Turner, Riley and Szubanski.
The series is made up of 8 thirty-minute episodes and originally aired on Australia’s 7 Network in 1994.
