J.K. Rowling launched the Open Book Tour in Los Angeles at the Kodak Theatre on October 15 and then traveled to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Auditorium in New Orleans.
Ms. Rowling is doing two events at Carnegie Hall on October 19th -one for school children and one for winners of Scholastic's sweepstakes. At each event, Rowling will read from the seventh and final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, answer questions about the entire series and sign books.
Scholastic released Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at 12:01 a.m. on July 21, 2007. The book broke all industry records selling 8.3 million copies in the first 24 hours and 11.5 million copies in the first 10 days. There are currently 140 million copies of the Harry Potter books in print in the U.S. alone.
