POSITIVE VOICES: WOMEN AND HIV PREMIERES ON SHOWTIME

POSITIVE VOICES: WOMEN AND HIV is a 45-minute documentary produced and directed by Gregory J. Pace of Kismet Films. Gloria Reuben, best known for her role as Jeanie Boulet, an HIV positive nurse on ER, co-produced, and served as the host of the documentary. Pace and Reuben co-wrote the piece. Kismet Films created the Positive Voices series for Cable Positive, a national non-profit HIV/AIDS awareness organization. WOMEN and HIV is the first full-length project in the series.

The documentary focuses on the stories of five women whose lives have been touched by HIV/AIDS. These women break stereotypes and stigmas to enlighten viewers on the truth about living with HIV/AIDS. "Positive Voices: Women and HIV sheds light on the harsh reality of women accounting for one of every three new HIV infections," said Steve Villano, President & CEO of Cable Positive. Matt Blank, Showtime Networks Inc. Chairman and CEO, agreed, saying, "Education is key to preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS and we at Showtime applaud Cable Positive and are pleased to be able to air this important documentary."

The candor and honesty with which these women share their stories will inspire viewers and change the way we look at the virus and those who have it. "We interviewed many willing participants in order to find women who represent a cross-section of the community, and were able to tell their stories in engaging and uplifting ways," said Greg Pace, "Gloria is a compassionate and insightful host who elicits wonderful moments from each of the women." Shot in HDV and edited in Final Cut HD, the documentary was entirely produced on location in New York and New Jersey. Post-production, including sound design and sound mix, were completed at the Kismet Films offices and post-production suites in SoHo, New York.
