Kingsley & Walker, organisers of events beyond your imagination, have nominated Kids Company as its chosen charity this year to help bring magic and sparkle to the lives of London's vulnerable children and to raise valuable funds. Kingsley & Walker are the organisers behind newly created event "A Dickens of a Christmas", which on Thursday, 29 November will be opened exclusively for a Kids Company Children's Christmas party for over 600 of London's most vulnerable children. TV presenter and mother, Gail Porter will also be attending the event and giving her support to the charity, as well as Liberal Democrat MP Simon Hughes.
GBP1.2 million has been spent to create a snow covered Dickensian London backdrop, hidden beneath London Bridge, and within the magically transformed Victorian vaults. Here the children will watch the Christmas stories of Dickens unfold thanks to 50 performers and the wonders of theatre and state of the art technology. Educational, yet fun and festive, the Dickens of a Christmas Kids Company party aims to give the children a magical Christmas experience that they will never forget.
The event will be open from the 4- 22 December and is the perfect destination for corporate Christmas parties or a magical night out with friends. "We are dedicated to organising events beyond your imagination, and Dickens of a Christmas is no exception. But working with Kids Company has added a really valuable and fulfilling dimension to our work and we are thrilled to be able to extend the Dickens experience to the children who need it the most. I can't imagine a more worthwhile audience" said Adrian Walker, MD of Kingsley & Walker. Camila Batmanghelidih, Founder of Kids Company agrees, "Children who are experiencing over-powering challenges often draw on such positive experiences to sustain hope and survive the bad times. Kingsley-Walker is partnering with us to bring joy to children who are thirsty for it".
