Cleveland based author Ann Brown has chosen Ohio public relations and advertising firm Eisen Management Group to direct and implement her publicity and marketing activities. Brown's first children's book, Farm Grandma & the Dancing Pitchfork, released in October to rave reviews from parents, educators and fellow authors for the sweet tale that makes quality time a little easier for grandparents and grandchildren alike.
According to EMG president Rodger Roeser, APR, the author and the book mirror much of the agency leader's own childhood of growing up on a farm and learning the values of hard work and common sense from his grandparents. "Often times, properly promoting a book, particularly a children's book, can be extremely challenging," Roeser explained. "But, we have the contacts and the right tools, and truly, an amazingly heartwarming tale that gives young children a wonderful chance to interact with their grandparents and share what promises to be a short story classic."
Roeser explains that the campaign will entail a series of publicity events and national media relations activities, along with a local viral marketing campaign, freshened website, and speaking events. The program will also promote the general celebration of grandparents and the value they bring to the family unit. Brown explains that the Farm Grandma series of books is aimed at primary grade girls. Brown used her own memories of great times spent as a little girl on her grandparents' farm in rural Ohio to help create the concept for the quick read, 28 page and beautifully illustrated book.
"When I sought a PR firm, I knew enough to know that I didn't know," she smiled. "I'm an author who needed a publicist -- preferably a publicist who understood how to promote books. Not only did I get that expertise with EMG, but the agency president and I share very similar memories of life growing up on the farm. It is those down home values that really lead me to finally select Rodger and EMG."
