KROMA Makeup Founder - Lee Tillett is Making a Splash Around the Country

There is a newly discovered gem located in Florida and her name is Lee Tillett, makeup artist and founder of KROMA MAKEUP. Women have all kinds of skin, yet we all want our makeup to make us look as beautiful as the celebrities. I do admit I often frequent the department stores seeking out the latest colors and trends, but then when I bring the overpriced makeup home, I am disappointed with the results. One must realize that the sales women are simply trained to sell product, not a person who has devoted their adult life to skincare.

Then I read about Lee Tillett, located in the Orlando region of Florida. Her makeup seemed different than the mass produced commercial products I was using and spending lots of hard earned dollars to purchase. I wanted quality makeup that was good to my skin yet brought out the best I can look. Kroma far surpasses any commercial product I have ever purchased.

“I have always had an interest in beauty, but I didn’t know that I would become a makeup artist, but I knew I had a love of skin.” When she moved from moved Chicago to Orlando 11 years ago, she noticed a need for aesthetics in the Orlando region and that was an ideal place to launch.

Tillett had a love for color and healthy skin products, she studied the ingredients that go into products and made sure that they were compatible with all the different skin types. The majority of of her products are botanical, mineral, and 100 percent natural. Even in hot weather, wherever you are located, Kroma has created a product line that is sweat-proof and all-natural so it does not feel as though it is sitting on top of your skin or melting off under the sun. Tillett looks for perfection with her makeup, and along with her personalized service, she has been growing in the market with requests globally for her line. Women fly from as far as Beverly Hills CA to have Lee sculpt their eyebrows and to purchase her line.

I encourage anyone interested in one of the finest skincare/makeup lines you will ever place on your skin to visit:

I had the pleasure of conducting a Q and A with Lee Tillett below.

Q:
When was Kroma born- how was the name chosen- where are you located?

A: Lee

In 1999, out of an apartment where a large following lead to a personal studio. The name KROMA means color in Greek and it is fitting for this natural, fashion-forward line. KROMA is located in the heart of downtown Winter Park on Park Ave.

Q: When did Lee get into the makeup/ skincare industry?

A: 22 years ago at the age of 18.

Q: What is your training?

A: Aesthetic licensed and Makeup Certified but mainly self-taught.

Q: What is your specialty?

A: Eyebrow sculpting and Private Makeup Lessons/Classes.

Q: How long has she been an expert in the industry?

A: For at least 10 years before opening the studio in FLorida

Q: What kind of clientèle do you cater to? Do you have any client stories you wish to share?

A: The serious client who's aware of good skin and natural-based makeup products as well as, post operative clients and frustrated clientèle with unpleasant past eyebrow experiences from previous establishments. Example of Jamie: a pretty, young client who 'gave up' on good mineral products after trying many, stumbled on KROMA and was happily converted after seeing the difference it made on her skin texture.

Q: Do you take part in the actual manufacturing of the makeup?

A: Yes, everything is approved by me as well as designing most products along with our 'bakers'.

Q: What are the 3 biggest mistakes she sees woman do with their makeup?

A: 1) Wearing the wrong foundation for their skin

2) Incorrect eyebrow shape for their face

3) Wrong techniques for their makeup application and remaining in a rut.

Q: Can you provide some tips for teens with bad skin..or a woman over 40 who doesnt want her skin to age?

A: TEENS: Start wearing mineral-based and botanical makeup products that do not clog your skin in turn, having a good 'canvas' to work with for your makeup routine. Also, DO NOT PICK at your skin since you can scar.

OVER 40: Wearing sunblock is essential especially, look for makeup products that provide you with a high SPF. Also, 'less can be more' with your makeup technique, coverage and texture of the product.

Q: What are your goals for Kroma?
A: To expand globally and help educate our retailers as well as our clients. We strongly believe that an educated client is a happy one.

Q: do you plan on expanding locations nationwide?

A: Yes. Be on the lookout for us!
