Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) announces the 2007 schedules for DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival (combined schedule attached). More than 90 events are on the schedule, including summer concerts at The Palace. Additional shows will be announced as tour plans develop.
The organization's popular "Love It Live" theme will continue for a third season as PS&E will provide one of the nation's largest and most varied line- ups of events featuring the summer's top touring artists with value-oriented pricing for many shows, including more than 40 events with $10 or $15 lawn tickets and specially priced four-packs.
Beginning with Eddie Money opening DTE Energy Music Theatre on May 25, nearly half of the summer outdoor shows will include affordable $10 or $15 lawn tickets, including such well-known acts as Doobie Brothers/Peter Frampton at DTE Energy Music Theatre on June 14, Boyz II Men at DTE Energy Music Theatre on July 13, Anita Baker at DTE Energy Music Theatre on July 21, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at Meadow Brook on July 28-29 and August 3-5, John Michael Montgomery at DTE Energy Music Theatre on August 10 and David Sanborn/Tower of Power at Meadow Brook on August 17.
"Year in and year out, our summer show schedule is the most extensive in the country by far, providing concert-goers a wide array of entertainment options to enjoy our wonderful Michigan summer nights or a special evening at The Palace," said Tom Wilson, PS&E President and CEO. "Our 2007 lineup continues this tradition. You will still see the best of the big-name acts touring this summer and we have worked hard to provide attractive pricing for those on a budget."
During the summer of 2006, the three PS&E venues combined to attract more than one million concert fans, led by DTE Energy Music Theatre which hosted 77 shows and remained the nation's most-attended amphitheatre for the 16th consecutive year with more than 830,000 guests.
Belle Tire is returning in 2007 for its second summer to sponsor the concert series of DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival. Michigan's largest independent tire retailer will support the schedules with in-store promotions and giveaways.
PS&E ownership includes The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre, as well as the management of Meadow Brook Music Festival on the campus of Oakland University. Combined, PS&E's Michigan venues average 300 events and 3.5 million guests annually.
The Palace has been voted Arena of the Year eight times by Performance magazine, twice by Pollstar magazine and is listed annually among North America's top-grossing arenas. Voted "Best Outdoor Concert Venue" in Pollstar's 2000 Readers' Poll, DTE Energy Music Theatre has been listed as the nation's most attended amphitheater by Amusement Business/Billboard each of the 16 years of PS&E ownership.
