Earlier this year, hundreds of college students packed New Orleans' Holwin' Wolf nightclub for performances by Unk, BG and The Chopper City Boyz, and Young Joc during the BET STAND AND DELIVER Block Party hosted by BET 106& Park co-hosts, Terrence and Rocsi. STAND AND DELIVER was created by BET and Cox Communications to rebuild historically black colleges and universities in New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and to renew school spirit and restore hope. BET cameras toured the campuses of Dillard, Xavier and Southern Universities to meet the faculty and administration, talk with students and get a feel for campus life one year after the storm. Starting April 1st through April 30th, STAND AND DELIVER: BET'S BENEFIT DOCUMENTARY will air exclusively on Cox digital cable with BET on Demand channel 1.
Cox digital cable subscribers can tune in to see all the action from the classrooms and campus to the basketball courts, all leading up to the exclusive Block Party to celebrate the launch of the STAND AND DELIVER Rebuilding Fund to reconstruct or repair a building at each of the three universities. STAND AND DELIVER: BET's BENEFIT DOCUMENTARY is available on Cox Digital cable with BET on Demand subscribers for the entire month of April. To learn more about STAND AND DELIVER and to contribute to the fund, viewers can log onto http://www.bet.com/standanddeliver throughout the calendar year.
"I am proud of BET's long-term commitment to the rebuilding of the Gulf region," said Debra Lee, BET Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "STAND AND DELIVER is an example of BET's strong connection with students at historically black colleges and universities and our dedication to their legacy of excellence in education."
