Veterans hospitalized at The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System over the week that celebrates our freedom will receive a special visit and performance from Las Vegas magician Aaron Radatz, who is known for his support of US troops overseas. "We owe our independence and freedoms to our soldiers and these veterans deserve the enjoyment that surrounds the 4th of July they have given us," Radatz said. "Everyone needs a little extra magic in their lives."
Aaron Radatz is bringing some close-up magic and a few illusions from his Las Vegas act to the patients, families and staff at VA hospital who would probably rather be out enjoying the beach, barbecue, and sunshine. With a down-to-earth performance style and warm welcoming character, Aaron Radatz finds magic in everyday objects and everyday people. Carrie Brandlin of the VA hospital said, "It makes the patients day when an entertainer gives of their time, especially a seasoned professional like Aaron."
Aaron and his crew have traveled around the globe to boost the spirits of the troops -- often at heightened security locations including Bosnia, Sarajevo, Kuwait, Iceland, and Romania. Radatz has received over 12 awards for his outstanding service to US troops; including such high honors as the Commander's Coin of Excellence and the Scroll of Appreciation of Honor and Admiration. Radatz and his cast have toured over 37 U.S. states, 30 countries, and 6 continents.
Gay Blackstone, president of the Academy of Magical Arts, Inc. whose clubhouse is the Magic Castle in Hollywood noted, "We are proud of our troops; and we are proud that Aaron is sharing his unique and highly entertaining magic with our veterans this special week." Radatz is in town for performances at the Magic Castle from July 2-3 and 5-8. The Magic Castle is a private club and guests must be invited by a member.
