This year Cartier International Polo celebrates its 23rd anniversary on Sunday, 29th July 2007 at The Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great Park.
The most anticipated event of the polo calendar will be watched by a 30 000 strong crowd and will feature a thrilling battle for the Coronation Cup between the polo teams of England and Chile. The Chilean polo team makes a welcome return to Cartier International Day; this South American quartet has been invited to play in memory of their former captain Gabriel Donoso. Just three years earlier, he had led the Chilean team to victory on this day, receiving both the cup and the most valuable player award from HM The Queen.
Early arrivals to Smith's Lawn will have the opportunity to watch the traditional morning match for the Golden Jubilee Trophy featuring the Prince of Wales team versus the Hurlingham squad.
The Cartier International Polo is the pinnacle of glamour and prestige. To this day it remains the climax of the British social season. Guests and international celebrities from around the globe will enjoy lunch by Anton Mosimann and Cuvée Cartier champagne in the Cartier marquee, this year designed by Nicky Haslam with flowers by John Carter.
