Heading towards the culmination of Nickelodeon's Let's Just Play Go Healthy Challenge, created in partnership with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation -- a joint initiative of the William J. Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association -- the series continues to motivate kids across the country to join the fight against childhood obesity. Now Jamie Lynn Spears, star of the Nickelodeon hit series Zoey 101 has joined the fight against childhood obesity and along with a growing roster of TEENick talent that have pledged to "Go Healthy" including Miranda Cosgrove star of the upcoming Nickelodeon television series iCarly; Devon Werkheiser star of the Nickelodeon movie, Shredderman Rules!" and Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide; and Nat and Alex Wolff of The Naked Brothers Band. Through the six-month Let's Just Play Go Healthy Challenge series, the network is empowering kids to change the outcome of their generation and measuring their pledges to adopt healthier lifestyles by offering plans for better diet and exercise.
The fourth installment of the Let's Just Play Go Healthy Challenge airing Sunday, July 29, 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon will feature a guest appearance from Kansas City Chiefs' Tight End Tony Gonzalez, who in this month's "Work out Like A Pro" segment gives kids tips on the importance of making time for exercise every day and demonstrates a classic exercise with a twist in the form of calf raises done on a staircase.
The latest episode of the Let's Just Play Go Healthy Challenge follows challengers Kenderick and April as they strive to become healthier. Kenderick is confronted with a new challenge of breaking a 10-lb block during an extreme Tae Kwan Do demonstration. In order to attain the skills needed to complete his task, Kenderick learns the importance of balance through a mechanical bull ride.
April learns the importance of time management, one of the themes of this month's episode, by going to a farm in Pennsylvania and taking on farm hand chores like milking cows and feeding pigs. April's Coach Lisa also takes her to a theme park and challenges her to ride 10 rides in 90 minutes.
The rotating storyline for the fourth episode of the Let's Just Play Go Healthy Challenge airing July 29 features Bryanna, a 14-year-old from Miami, Florida who wants to improve her eating habits. A member of her schools cheer squad, Bryanna stays active by taking belly dancing and aerobics classes. But with her tight schedule, she has little time for eating healthy. Bryanna gets a little help from renowned chef Allen Susser, of Chef Allen's -- South Florida's premiere gourmet restaurant -- who gives Bryanna tips on picking healthier food options and how to make a healthy snack.
