Disney Baby Einstein Playfully Introduces Little Ones to Basic Shapes With New DVD, Discovering Shapes

From a waffle in the shape of a square and a sandwich cut into triangle pieces, to a circle found in the middle of a flower, little ones are surrounded by shapes during every part of their day. In Discovering Shapes, the newest DVD title from the award-winning Baby Einstein Company, children are creatively introduced to five basic shapes -- circle, oval, square, rectangle and triangle -- and encouraged to find and identify shapes in every day objects from their surrounding world. Featuring a classic look and feel unique to Baby Einstein, Discovering Shapes provides parents and little ones with a fun and engaging way to discover the world of shapes from a baby's point of view.

Hosted by a whimsical Rhino puppet and set to classical music that has been re-orchestrated for little ears, Discovering Shapes takes an extraordinary look at the world by exploring common shapes as seen in everyday objects including nature, food and household items. With a silly and engaging puppet show to reinforce each shape, Discovering Shapes encourages viewers to join in the fun and practice saying and identifying new shapes on their own. From identifying an egg as an oval to discovering the square in the window pane, Discovering Shapes helps parents expose their little ones to the world of shapes in a new and interactive way.

Discovering Shapes includes several bonus features including "Discovery Cards," which introduce additional shapes such as a diamond, heart, star and crescent. The "story time" bonus feature brings the Baby Einstein book "See and Spy Shapes" to life by encouraging viewers to find the shapes within the illustrations of the book. Puppet shows and a "locate the shape" game round out the bonus feature section.

The Baby Einstein collection features other shape-themed products that playfully engage little ones in discovering the shapes around them. Parents can reinforce the theme during reading time with "See and Spy Shapes," "My First Book of Shapes" and the "Shape Sorter" set.

Discovering Shapes incorporates Baby Einstein's new age grading system which will be highlighted on the exterior packaging. This new color-coded system allows buyers to easily identify the age-appropriate content and title for whomever they're shopping. The color-coded age grading will be reflected as follows:

-- Yellow: 3 months +
-- Orange: 6 months +
-- Green: 9 months +
-- Purple: 12 months

Discovering Shapes is the 24th DVD title from The Baby Einstein Company, the award-winning creator of the infant developmental media category and best-selling brand of videos for infants and toddlers, from birth. As with every Baby Einstein DVD, Discovering Shapes features multi-language viewing options including English, Spanish and French. Available at major retailers and online, the suggested retail price is $19.99 for DVD. Discovering Shapes is recommended for little ones age nine months and up.
