New York, January 22, 2007 – Even though Hillary Clinton has taken the spotlight by announcing her bid to be the first female president of the U.S., Bill Clinton was still the center of attention at the launch party for former Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe’s new book, "What a Party!" Hillary wasn’t there, however, Bill gave props to the candidate, who he said has a big heart and learns quickly. McAuliffe quipped that he was thankful that his publisher, St. Martin’s Press, outbid Judith Regan for the book. We couldn’t tell if he was kidding or not when he said that Harvey Weinstein, who slipped into the party unnoticed, wants to make a movie version.
Mikhail Baryshnikov, Bill O'Reilly, Mike Wallace, Al Sharpton and Chelsea Clinton also made the party rounds at the Four Seasons Restaurant. Richard Holbrooke stayed only a few minutes, as did Barbara Walters, who seemed horrified by the noise and dust outside the venue from private sanitation trucks grinding sheetrock from an adjacent construction site, non-stop all evening.
