THE HISTORY CHANNEL® HIT SERIES DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH RETURNS WITH NEW HOSTS ZAY HARDING & HUNTER ELLIS


Trekking further, flying higher and diving deeper, DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH, The History Channel® hit series is returning with an all-new look for its fourth season, debuting Monday, September 3 at 9pm ET/PT. Adventurer Zay Harding and former Navy Fighter Pilot Hunter Ellis circle the globe in search of answers to some of civilization’s most enigmatic mysteries. Joining them on various fact-finding missions will be new DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH series regulars, archaeologist Kara Cooney, and military and diving expert Charles Ingram.

The season kicks off with Neanderthal! on Monday, September 3 at 9pm ET/PT. On Gibraltar, at the very edge of Europe, scientists have discovered evidence that the Neanderthals hung on for thousands of years longer than previously believed. Zay tests their weapons, joins scientists as they decode their DNA, and dives into underwater caves that may reveal the final story of their last days on earth.

DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH: Angkor Wat: The Eighth Wonder (Monday, September 10 at 9pm ET/PT) - This magnificent stone temple - set deep in the heart of the Cambodian jungle – was built on a scale unparalleled in human history. Zay seeks to unravel its secrets and solve the mystery of why it was suddenly abandoned to the jungle.



DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH: The Hunley – New Revelations (Monday, September 17 at 9pm ET/PT) - In a desperate bid to turn the tide of the Civil War, the Confederates launched a new and daring weapon: a forty-foot submarine, armed with a primitive torpedo. It destroyed a mighty Union warship, yet its crew never made it home. Based on new exclusive archaeological evidence, DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH reenacts the crew’s final moments and with Hunter reveals for the first time, what likely sunk the Hunley.

DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH: Pirates – Terror on the Mediterranean – New Revelations (Monday, September 24 at 9pm ET/PT) - They terrorized the seas and the shores of Europe for more than 400 years, enslaving as many as a million people -- yet the dastardly deeds of the Barbary Pirates are little known today. DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH: Warriors of the Clouds (Monday, October 1 at 9pm ET/PT) - Five hundred years before the Inca, a remarkable band of warriors called the Chachapoya built the greatest stone monument in the Americas. Amazingly, it’s three times the size of Egypt’s largest pyramid. Yet their civilization has almost vanished without a trace. Now, in a DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH exclusive, Hunter accompanies a team of archaeologists to reveal its secret contents.

DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH: Kings of the Stone Age (Monday, October 15 at 9pm ET/PT) - Carved from single boulders of basalt, the giant stone heads of the Olmec have amazed and mystified archaeologists for more than 150 years. DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH: The Real Surfer King (Monday, October 29 at 9pm ET/PT) - For hundreds of years, Hawaii was a bloody battleground of rivaling chiefs, until one man discovered a way to settle their scores and unify the islands for the very first time.
