Two time Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and social activist Michael Bolton will be the Celebrity Host of the Third Annual USO Celebrity Golf Tournament Tuesday, August 14, beginning with a shotgun start at 10 am at Trump National Golf Course on the Palos Verdes Peninsula; Gary Bryan of the K-EARTH 101 Morning Show announced today.


This year's affair has a wide range of celebrities attending, including participants from last year like Joe Mantegna to new supporters like Malcolm McDowell, as well as main cast members from CBS's "CSI Miami", FX's ""Rescue Me", ABC's "According To Jim", ABC's "Extreme Makeover Home Edition", and more. Gary Bryan will be doing a live broadcast from 6 am - 10 am interviewing participating celebrities.


K-EARTH 101 personalities Lisa Stanley, Joshua Escandon and Jim Carson will also be on hand. Dozens of celebrities joined the 2006 tourney, including Gary Sinise (CSI NY), Miss America, Eric Close (WITHOUT A TRACE), Patricia Heaton (EVERYONE LOVES RAYMOND), Jamie Farr (MASH) and Robert Hayes (AIRPLANE).


This is the fourth year K-EARTH 101 has joined with the USO to raise funds for their facilities. "We are pleased to again support the USO and hope this fun tournament will raise even more of the needed funds for the USO," said Maureen Lesourd, K-EARTH VP/General Manager. "Gary Bryan and all of us at K-EARTH 101 are proud and excited to work with the USO again in support of our troops and such a worthy cause."


Net proceeds of the golf event will help the USO-Greater L.A. Area keep centers open at LAX, Ontario, and Palm Springs airports and continue to provide entertainment and support to U.S. military personnel and their families. To date, events such as the raffle of a Jesse James Customized Jeep have approximately $1,000,000.


"We anticipate a sell out event that will be tremendous fun and raise much needed funds to help fund our USO Centers and activities for the next year," said Gordon Fawcett, USO-GLAA President.
