New York, October 3, 2006 – It was very easy for Elton John to choose the date for the annual Elton John AIDS Foundation benefit. “October 3 was the only date available at the Waldorf-Astoria this month”, the music icon said at the affair.
Elvis Costello and Diana Krall were still a bit star-struck from dining with Elton the previous evening, where he asked Elvis to perform at the gala. Jazz singer Krall confessed that she’s still in awe of Elton, even after all her years in the business. Of course, Costello and Krall are more in awe of the fact that they’re expecting twins in December; the ecstatic parents-to-be were beaming.
Whoopi Goldberg, Ivana Trump, Billie Jean King, golf champion Nick Faldo, Neil Young and director Milos Forman all took advantage of the Waldorf’s last October booking.
