A shop window in Kenneth Cole’s East 42nd Street store will be converted into a live “bed-in,” Friday, December 1, from 8 AM - 11 AM, as married couple Shawn Decker and Gwenn Barringer spend the morning together in bed to show that people with HIV/AIDS are having safe sex lives all over the world. Shawn is HIV positive, Gwenn is not.
December 1 is World AIDS Day, and designer Kenneth Cole is chairman of amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. amfAR and Kenneth Cole are teaming up with Gwenn and Shawn to remind us that as the search for an AIDS cure is moving forward people can still have safe sex lives. Kenneth Cole will be available to the press at the Grand Central store at 10 AM.
Shawn is the author of My Pet Virus: The true Story of a Rebel Without a Cure, and he and Gwenn will be featured in an HBO documentary, Positively Naked, airing on Cinemax December 1.
