Rock icon Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones returned to his home in Weston, Connecticut after undergoing successful skull surgery in New Zealand. The 62-year-old guitarist will continue to receive treatment here in the United States.
According to a publicist for Richards, the Stones guitarist is making a full recovery. 'He is feeling great, happy to be home and looking forward to getting back on the road with the Rolling Stones next month,' the statement said.
Richards suffered a concussion on April 27 in Fiji after falling out of a palm tree. He was later flown to New Zealand where he had successful surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain. He was discharged from Ascot Hospital in Auckland on May 11 but continued to receive treatment in New Zealand after the operation.
The Rolling Stones postponed the European leg of their 'A Bigger Bang' tour. According to the group's Web site, makeup dates will be announced shortly.
