Food Network Throws Down Two New Primetime Series In July

Food Network's summer line-up gets sizzling this July with the premiere of two brand-new primetime shows. 'Road Tasted,' hosted by Paula Deen's sons, Bobby and Jaime Deen, premieres Tuesday, July 11 at 10pm ET/PT and follows their adventures across the country in search of one-of-a-kind foods that viewers have delivered right to their door. 'Throwdown' with Bobby Flay, premiering Thursday, July 13 at 10pm ET/PT, forces Flay to put his Iron Chef training to use in spot competitions with local food masters.

'Bobby Flay and the Deen boys are bringing fresh perspectives to Food Network in their pursuit of the best foods and cooks out there,' said Bob Tuschman, Senior Vice President, Programming for Food Network. 'These shows are representative of what Food Network at nighttime is all about – more drama, more adventure, and more fun, all while we explore the great big world of food.'

In 'Road Tasted,' Paula Deen's fun-loving sons Jamie and Bobby hit the road, criss-crossing the country in search of the best local, hand-crafted foods. Armed with wit, ingenuity and a passion for food, the Deen boys offer a fresh, fun look at the specialty stores and family run businesses that make one-of-a-kind creations. They'll even show viewers how to get it all sent to their homes. From Bert's Burger Bowl in Santa Fe, AZ, to Landi's Pork Store in Brooklyn, NY, and Henrietta's for coconut strips in Key West, FL, viewers will see it all from the boys' convertible – local treats await, but half the fun is getting there!

Chef Bobby Flay is on a secret mission to challenge the best of the best in different areas of food – award-winning BBQ, pizza, wedding cakes, clam chowder, chili, jerk chicken and more. These people are the absolute masters in their area, with a room full of trophies to prove it. In each episode of 'Throwdown,' Food Network arrives to shoot a 'profile' of these masters for a show. That's partly true, but with cameras rolling for the 'profile,' Bobby surprises each expert and challenges them to an unexpected cook-off of their specialty, right then and there. Bobby is out of his element but will travel everywhere from New York City, to Austin, TX to see who can really Throwdown!
