New York, May 17, 2006 – While many of us spent Wednesday evening on Central Park South, stalking the celebrities - like Britney Spears - staying at the Ritz-Carlton, brave explorers who ventured across the street and into the park discovered a hidden boldface tribe on safari at the Central Park Zoo. The Wildlife Conservation Society was celebrating the American West and the 100th anniversary of the American Bison Society. OK, mainly they were raising big bucks by parading celebrities in front of the zoo animals for rich folks.
We can't put our finger on it, but for some reason, the presence of Glenn Close near all of those cute, live animals made us nervous. Isabella Rossellini made friends with a three-toed sloth. And that aroma that permeates the zoo may have trailed Uma Thurman over to the Jivamukti yoga school grand opening, the pungent party where she joined the sweating shoeless masses the same evening.
