New York, May 9, 2006 – The Candie’s Foundation held its cutely-titled Event to Prevent Teen Pregnancy on Tuesday, with entertainment by Lionel Richie and teen singer/songwriter Teddy Geiger, who appears on CBS’ Love Monkey. The 17-year-old Geiger was extremely confident and comfortable speaking to reporters. Lionel Richie insisted that his daughter Nicole’s fame has outstripped his own, and he told Inside Edition that she loses weight when she is stressed, as does he. Funny how Nicole inherited her adopted dad’s metabolism. Lionel also reminisced about doing everything his parents warned him not to, just as Nicole did.

Designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka said that their their doe-eyed muse, Ashley Olsen, is taking some time off after finishing her school year. Mary-Kate is taking some time off as well. Kimora Lee Simmons, Kenneth Cole, Petra Nemcova and Jamie-Lynn Sigler all joined the battle against teen pregnancy.
