On Sunday, a group of activists strung together 114,000 bras in Cyprus to raise awareness about breast cancer and set a new world's record.
The old record was 79,000 bras which were strung together in Singapore in 2003.
The bras were sent in by women from all around the world to help raise awareness about the dangers of breast cancer and how women must take action to monitor and maintain their health.
'We know how many bras we have and we have beaten the record,' announced Gina Ghillyer, an activist with the cancer patients support group that organized the event.
'Cancer does not necessarily kill, negligence will,' activist Louisa van Rooij told the Associated Press.
The chain took almost nine hours to put together
after one year of planning. When the chain was competed, it measured approximately 70 miles long.
Breast cancer kills approximately 400,000 women worldwide each year. Early detection remains the best way to boost survival rates so women are urged to get regular mammograms.
