June 28, 2006 - The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre is proud to announce the tenth anniversary of Asssscat, the weekly show that has become a New York comedy institution. This will be the UCB’s first New York performance together in over a year featuring all four original members of the Upright Citizens Brigade.
The Upright Citizens Brigade: Matt Besser (Junebug, Reno 9-11), Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls) Ian Roberts (Anchorman, Talladega Nights) and Matt Walsh (Dog Bite’s Man, Old School) will host their form of no-holds-barred fully-improvised comedy with special guest players and all-star monologists.
During the last decade ASSSSCAT has earned a dedicated fan-base as well as an hour long special on the Bravo network entitled ASSSSCAT:IMPROV.” Last year, ASSSSCAT played to over 2,700 audience members at Central Park SummerStage, making it the largest fully-improvised show ever. ASSSSCAT can be seen weekly at the UCB Theatres in New York and Los Angeles, yet the tenth anniversary show remains the only performance featuring all 4 members of the UCB.
The performance features Saturday Night Live’s Horatio Sanz and Tina Fey, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien’s Kevin Dorff plus super special guests.
This special performance of ASSSSCAT takes place on Tuesday July 25th 8:00pm at Irving Plaza. The ticket price is $15 and is one of the many events in support of the UCB Theatre’s 8th Annual Del Close Marathon.
The Del Close Marathon takes place at the UCB Theatre in New York from Friday afternoon July 28th through Sunday July 30th evening, all day-and all-night. Groups from around the country will perform alongside famous professionals for over 54 consecutive hours of improvised comedy. This is in celebration of the late Del Close, the grandfather of long-form improvisation, improv guru and teacher of the Upright Citizens Brigade.
The 10th anniversary performance of ASSSSCAT with the Upright Citizens Brigade takes place on Tuesday July 28th 7:30pm at Irving Plaza, 17 Irving Place. Doors open at 8:00pm.
