Author J.K. Rowling said that two characters will die in the final book of the 'Harry Potter' series and one of them may even be Harry himself.
In an interview with British television on Monday, Rowling said she already knew how the series would end as she wrote the final chapter long ago. However, the last book is not quite finished.
'I'm well into it now,' she said when asked about the final book in the series. 'I wrote the final chapter in something like 1990, so I've known exactly how the series is going to end.'
Regardless of whether or not Harry meets his end in the final book, Rowling said she couldn't stand the thought of somebody else taking over the character after she passes. 'After I'm dead and gone they won't be able to bring back the character,' she said after saying how she detests 'non-author written sequels.'
Rowling said she always knew she wanted to write seven books so Harry was never in danger of being killed off until now.
'I have never been tempted to kill him off before the final because I've always planned seven books, and I want to finish on seven books,' she said.
Rowling has not been afraid to kill off characters before. In the sixth book, 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,' Harry's mentor, Dumbledore died. Will Harry be next?
