Apple Computers continues to expand the visual content available on its popular iTunes site. The computer giant just announced an agreement with Warner Brothers that has made episodes of the sitcom 'Friends' available for download on iTunes beginning on Tuesday, July 25. The price for an episode of the show: $1.99.
Warner Brothers hopes this is just the beginning. In addition to 'Friends,' episodes of the Sci-fi series 'Babylon Five' and classic cartoons like, 'The Jetsons' and 'The Flintstones' are also being made available. Warner Brothers hopes to expand its content to additional Web sites and to make additional programming available to consumers.
'Making our television content available to iTunes consumers is an important step in our digital distribution strategy,' explained Simon Kenny, president, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. 'This deal fits perfectly with our philosophy of providing consumers with access to our world-class entertainment properties across the widest selection of platforms and devices available.'
The pilot for 'Aquaman' is also a popular download on iTunes, presently ranking fifth on the most popular visual download list.
For those seeking television downloads, the choices will continue to expand.
