Los Angeles, July 23, 2006 – "The Ant Bully" premiere made for a fun family-style afternoon, with, it seemed, half of Hollywood and their kids trooping to Grauman’s Chinese Theater. But we were hoping for more. The animated film’s cast includes Nicolas Cage, Julia Roberts, Lily Tomlin, Meryl Streep and Paul Giamatti – none of whom attended the premiere.

We’d think that a few strategic phone calls from Tom Hanks, who is one of the project’s producers, would bring out showbiz royalty. Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson is currently in New York appearing on Broadway, but she sent her sometime producing partner Nia Vardalos along to lend some star power.

Ah well, that won’t stop "The Ant Bully" from tormenting the box office.
