A video showing Shehzad Tanweer, the man responsible for the suicide bombing that killed seven people in the London Underground on July 7, 2005, was aired on al-Jazeera television the day before the first anniversary of the infamous terrorist attack.
Tanweer, a native of Leeds, spoke in English in the video, although Arabic subtitles were provided on al-Jazeera. The terrorist threatened, 'What you have witnessed now is only the beginning of a string of attacks that will continue and become stronger.'
Tanweer added that the attacks will continue 'until you pull your forces out of Afghanistan and Iraq.'
Also seen on the video are Ayman al-Zawahri, al-Qaeda's second in command, and American Adam Gadahn, also known as Azzam al-Amriki.
Police in Great Britain say that video was released on the anniversary of the London bombings to cause 'maximum hurt.'
The video also contains footage of people with guns and images of a man circling points of London on a map.
Jacqui Putnam, a survivor of the July 7 attacks, was determined not to be deterred by the video. 'Nothing's going to overshadow this anniversary,' she told the BBC. 'Tomorrow we're just going to mourn the dead and show they're not going to intimidate us.'
Two minutes of silence will be observed in London tomorrow at noon to commemorate the first anniversary of the bombing. A total of 52 people were killed in the terrorist attacks.
