New York, Feb. 21, 2006 – Online voting for the TRL Awards has closed, and MTV is now pre-taping portions of the show, so we stopped in at Tuesday’s session and chatted up the stars.

Ladies, if you’re lucky enough to score a date with R&B heartthrob Chris Brown, his mom may have to drive you to that romantic dinner; the 16-year-old doesn’t yet have a driver’s license. (Although he does have a car in the driveway, waiting.)

"Laguna Beach" alum Stephen Colletti will not be asking Kimberly Stewart to marry him.

Fall Out Boy bass player Pete Wentz clarified the band’s TRL nomination in the category “Best Group That Actually Plays Instruments”. “I think there’s a lot of bands, or people, on TRL that don’t play their own instruments, or sing to backing tracks. We’re a rock band, and we don’t.”

And then Ashlee Simpson came along. Ashlee told us that she likes being blonde, for now, and she likes her boyfriend, Braxton Olita, bald, for now – he shaved his head the night before, she reported.
