SUNDANCE CHANNEL PREMIERES SEASON TWO OF SLINGS & ARROWS

Slings & Arrows - a smart look at the miscellaneous crises, creative conflicts, and romantic couplings of a beleaguered Shakespearean theatre festival - returns for a second season on Sundance Channel with six new episodes beginning Sunday, February 19 @ 8 PM ET/PT.

The second season revisits the comically dysfunctional New Burbage Theater Festival, under the artistic direction of Geoffrey Tennant ( Paul Gross). Tennant's triumph with 'Hamlet' has done nothing to solve the theater's financial woes, and now he has no choice but to mount a new production of the most jinxed play in theatrical history: 'Macbeth.' Guest stars during Season 2 include Rachel McAdams (Wedding Crashers, Red Eye), Colm Feore (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Chicago), and Arsinée Khanjian (Fat Girl, Felicia's Journey).

Slings and Arrows details the daily activities at the New Burbage Theatre Festival, a Shakespearean theatre company where brilliant actor-turned-director Geoffrey Tennant ( Paul Gross, 'Due South') has reluctantly taken on the role of Artistic Director following the sudden demise of his onetime mentor, Oliver Welles (Stephen Ouimette, The Adjuster). Geoffrey's first season directing the New Burbage was marked by outrageous fortune, as his return was greeted frostily by his ex-girlfriend, leading lady Ellen Fanshaw (Martha Burns, Thanks of a Grateful Nation); General Manager Richard Smith-Jones (Mark McKinney, 'Kids in the Hall') fell under the influence of a conniving board member; and the flagship production of 'Hamlet' threatened to turn into a disaster under the direction of preening no-talent Darren Nichols ( Don McKellar). Meanwhile, Geoffrey struggled to maintain his sanity during numerous visits from the ghostly Oliver, who proved to be as opinionated in death as in life. The series is directed by Peter Wellington and written by Bob Martin, Mark McKinney and Susan Coyne.
