New York, December 11, 2006 – The world’s most glamorous couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, came strolling down West 54th Street in Manhattan on Monday evening, hand-in-hand, heading for the Ziegfeld Theater for the premiere of The Good Shepherd. This surprised the throngs of fans lining the sidewalk, excitedly waiting to see who emerged from each gleaming limo that pulled up. The high profile pair took the low-key approach when their car got stuck in traffic, and didn’t disappoint, greeting their fans and signing autographs for twenty minutes.
All of the actors raved about Robert De Niro’s directing skills. “He’s brilliant”, Jolie said. Matt Damon gushed, “He’s got such a fantastic attention to detail. He’s so focused, and so passionate.” De Niro put his megawatt stars to work once again, making the premiere a benefit for his Tribeca Film Institute.
Brad Pitt, who wasn’t in the film, said that he’s proud of Jolie, but didn’t say much else, dodging questions with, Im off-duty tonight!
Young actor Eddie Redmayne, who plays the son of Damon and Jolie in the movie, had a delightful anecdote about how he’d learned that Angelina was pregnant with daughter Shiloh while shooting in the Dominican Republic: “We were rehearsing this scene and practicing, and Matt was discussing how he was having a child and how excited he was and Angelina kind of leaned over and said, You know guys, theres something I want to tell you. Im also pregnant’, at which point I started having severe child envy. I was like, Wait a second guys, dont you think its a bit disrespectful in front of your son?”
Everyone on the red carpet seemed most fascinated by Jolie’s tattoos, visible thanks to the low-cut back of her Reem Acra gown. Take a closer look for yourself, at the following URL:

Damon had already seen the movie, but a lot of the stars claimed that they hadn’t yet. Brad and Angelina stayed for the entire screening, and then joined the party at Jazz at Lincoln Center until after midnight.
