Beyonces Ultimate Dream: To Be Gay Icon

New York, December 4, 2006 – We were stationed next to some nice folks from Here!, a gay television network, on the red carpet at the Dreamgirls premiere, and witnessed Beyonce Knowles reveal to them her life’s goal:

HERE TV – “How do you feel about being a gay icon?”
BEYONCE – “It’s definitely my goal, and my dream.”
HERE TV – “To be a gay icon?”
BEYONCE – “Oh absolutely. That’s the ultimate thing I could be. That’s the ultimate compliment for me.”

Beyonce dreams big!

The Dreamgirls premiere was one of the most star-studded and glamorous we’ve seen in ages, with everyone dressed to the nines, and one of the longest red carpets ever, stretching much of the length of the block at Manhattan’s Ziegfeld Theatre. Queen Latifah, Terrence Howard, Rosie O’Donnell, Lenny Kravitz and many other celebs couldn’t wait to see the film about a 1960s singing group. Eddie Murphy held hands with his new squeeze Tracey Edmonds, ex-wife of Babyface.

Music producers Harvey Mason Jr. and Damon Thomas, who produced and arranged all of the movie’s music, told us that next they’ll work on Whitney Houston’s new record. Whitney just started to work on the album this week, so they haven’t heard her sing yet. “But Clive [Davis] has told us she’s back stronger than ever, and excited, ready to work”, they said.

Beyonce skipped the after party at Gotham Hall – December 4 is her man, Jay-Z’s birthday, and she celebrated with him after the screening.
