Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. (NYSE:MSO) will introduce the second test issue of Blueprint: Design Your Life, a new lifestyle publication for women, when it arrives on newsstands on August 28, 2006. The magazine, which offers inspiring ideas and "how-to" tips for creating and refining a woman's own personal style, is off to a promising start, attracting many readers and advertisers.
The second test issue of Blueprint is the first for editor-in-chief Sarah Humphreys, who joined the magazine in July. It features a broad range of stories -- from entertaining friends with a wine tasting and creating a dazzling cocktail ring (for as little as $3) to choosing and packing luggage and much, much more.
"With its innovative ideas and smart, stylish point of view, Blueprint is a groundbreaking magazine-an indispensable, inspiring resource for every corner of a woman's life," said Ms. Humphreys. "In this latest issue, we give readers hundreds of fresh suggestions and projects, including how to create the stunning cut-out-and-wear skirt shown on the cover, how to set up a home office that's far from stodgy, and how to apply minimal makeup for a strikingly beautiful effect. All of which help readers to enrich their lives - - and truly enjoy them."
Blueprint is enjoying a positive reception from both consumers and advertisers. The first test issue of Blueprint provided circulation over and above the initial rate base of 250,000. The new issue showcases a full spectrum of advertising categories, including fashion, beauty, home furnishings, automotive, travel, and food and beverages. The company anticipates achieving a rate base of 400,000 in 2007, when it expects to publish six issues of Blueprint.
"We're delighted that Blueprint has struck a chord with both consumers and advertisers. MSLO's extraordinary track record and Blueprint's fresh editorial voice are a powerfully appealing combination," stated Sally Preston, SVP, Publisher.
