'Fowl Ball' Could Be a Huge Hit for Young Sluggers

KFC is on a mission to salute young ball players nationwide during this year's big youth baseball series. After the first player hits a homerun off a foul pole during an official game of the youth series in Williamsport, Pa., August 18-27, KFC will throw team parties for 500 youth baseball squads nationwide.

"KFC is proud to rename the foul poles in Williamsport, Pa. the KFC 'fowl poles' for this exciting promotion," says Scott Bergren, executive vice president of marketing for KFC. "We'd sure be happy to give away a lot of chicken if one little slugger can hit a homerun off of the KFC 'fowl poles' during an official game of the big youth series."

The Fowl Pole Challenge is valid during any of the 32 games played during the 2006 series from August 18-27. After the first homerun is hit off a foul pole during an official sanctioned youth baseball game in Williamsport, Pa., KFC will award $100 worth of KFC Build-Your-Own Variety Buckets to the first 500 eligible teams to register at http://www.kfc.com/baseball after the "fowl pole" homerun is hit.
