Cycling World Body Announces Doping Probe

In an interview published Wednesday, International Cycling Union president Pat McQuaid said the entire sport might need to be overhauled to eliminate doping, which has become "an integral part" of professional cycling.

He also said all elements of the sport - including the number and length of races, number of rest days, scheduling of events and team organization would be examined by a panel of specialists from around the world.

If results of the study dictate it, McQuaid says the review could produce drastic changes in professional cycling by the 2008 season.
