The nation's top electoral court has ordered a recount in nine percent of Mexico's 130,000 voting stations - far short of the full recount demanded by leftist candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador
Lopez Obrador lost the July 2 election to conservative rival Felipe Calderon by a razor-thin margin of six-tenths of one percent. He and his supporters say the voting was rigged, and have staged large-scale protests in Mexico City for five consecutive weeks.
Hundreds of Lopez Obrador's supporters seized toll booths in the capital city Tuesday, letting commuters drive through without paying.
Mexico's electoral court have until September 6 to officially declare a president-elect.
