A new CNN poll released Tuesday shows that President Bush's approval rating has fallen to a new low of just 32 percent. In March, his rating was at 36 percent which was then the lowerst rating for Mr. Bush.
A full 60 percent of Americans disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job according to the survey.
Among the issues dragging down Bush's poll numbers are the ongoing war in Iraq, the rising price of gasoline, the president's now aborted attempt to give Dubai Ports World control of six American ports and the fallout from the government's poor handling of Hurricane Katrina.
Bush is now attempting to address some of these issues. He has made a cosmetic shakeup of his cabinet and just today, announced that he would investigate accusations of price gouging by oil companies.
Republicans have been fearful that Bush’s unpopularity may cause them to lose control of one or more houses of Congress in this fall's mid-term elections.
