Last night, during the finale of The Next Food Network Star, it was revealed that America selected Guy Fieri Season Two winner of the popular show and Food Network's newest chef. Viewers voted on FoodNetwork.com and via text messaging, and Food Network star Emeril Lagasse was on hand to pronounce Fieri as the winner of the contest.
Reggie Southerland, a 39-year-old a café manager and baker from Los Angeles , California, was the event's first runner-up.
As the winner of The Next Food Network Star, Fieri receives a contract for his own six-episode series, which will premiere on Sunday, June 25th at 10 AM ET/PT, as part of the network's successful weekend In the Kitchen programming block. Fieri will begin working on the series immediately, as the show will go into production in May.
Fieri, 38, hails from Santa Rosa , California and likes to make people happy through his food. An owner of four restaurants in California, he likes to mix styles of food to create new, unique flavor combinations. (One of his restaurants combines Southern BBQ with Sushi.) This charismatic father of two involves his nine-year-old son wherever he can and thinks food should be fun.

Television veteran Marc Summers (Unwrapped) hosted the series produced by CBS EYE Too Productions on behalf of Food Network. The finalists were tested in a series of challenges and were evaluated by a panel of judges who narrowed the field down to two contestants, each of whom filmed a pilot segment.
