Swedish clothing manufacturer Hennes & Mauritz has announced that it will drop an advertising campaign featuring supermodel Kate Moss now that Moss has admitted to using cocaine. H&M made the announcement on Tuesday.
The ad campaign was designed to promote the latest line designed by Stella McCartney, that will debut across Europe in November. McCartney is the daughter of former Beatle Paul McCartney.
Liv Asarnoj, a spokeswoman for H&M said that 'after evaluating the situation, we have decided that a campaign with Kate Moss is not consistent with H&M's clear disassociation from drugs.'
According to Asarnoj, Moss had contacted the company on Saturday to apologize and promised in writing to uphold the company's image of being 'healthy, wholesome and sound.' Although initially, H&M indicated they would stick with Moss, the apology was not enough to counter the negative publicity caused by Moss' admission.
H&M indicated they would hire another model for the ad campaign although a replacement for Moss has yet to be named.
