New York, October 27, 2005 – There were lots of surprises at the always glamorous Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars this year. Proudly expectant Melania Trump bravely paraded her bulging belly amidst a fashion crowd to which fat is merely a hazy concept, including Anna Wintour and Naomi Campbell. Melania had plenty of moral support from the Trump clan; Donald, his hair, son Donald, Jr. and daughter Ivanka all turned out.

Another with a rumored bun in the oven was model Karen Elson, recently married to White Stripes rocker Jack White. Elson, er, didn’t especially look preggers, but maybe it’s early.

Sandra Bullock, who has reportedly denied rumors that she’s pregnant, brought her biker TV star husband, Jesse James, who clearly was not used to being at a formal, frothy fashion ball. Jesse looked terrific in his tux, but refused to even pose for photos with his wife; we snapped him on his way in.

Some surprises at the Night of Stars were less, well, surprising, but certainly delightful, like the presence of fashion legends Alberta Ferretti and Valentino, who accepted an award from Meryl Streep.
