New York, October 5 – Rock star Bono seized the chance to reunite with his economist crush, Jeffrey Sachs, last night at the inaugural Moynihan Lecture at NYU. Bono worked closely with Sachs in Africa, but griped that he doesn’t get to see him much these days, since the Columbia University professor is now always hanging around with Angelina Jolie. The lecture at New York University, one of America’s most expensive colleges, was about the costs of saving Africa. The school’s Glucksman Ireland House hosted, and fellow Irish folk Frank McCourt, U2 band mate The Edge and Moynihan family members swirled through a pre-lecture cocktail reception.
After the lecture, possible Nobel Peace Prize winner/activist/ecologist Bono headed outside, through a waiting crowd, and got into a giant SUV, which had been idling by the curb for over 20 minutes.
