The Phoenix Suns refused to go down without a fight. Down 3-0 and on the road, the Suns pulled off a 111-106 win over the San Antonio Spurs to extend the best-of-seven Western Conference finals to at least a fifth game. The Spurs still lead the series three games to one.
The Suns finally utilized their fast break offense, led by Amare Stoudemire's 31 points, to help put the game away. In addition to leading the Suns in points, Stoudemire held San Antonio's Tim Duncan to just 15 points for the game and just four in the second half. He also blocked a dunk attempt by Duncan with 36 seconds left that could have pulled the Spurs to within two points.
Joe Johnson added 26 points for the Suns who are now attempting to become the first NBA team in history to win a best-of-seven series after dropping the first three games.
Stoudemire was confident the Suns could pull of the historic feat. 'We believe. As a team we believe,' Stoudemire said after the game. 'We're not going to give up that easy. That's the whole point of the playoffs ... we came out strong and we got the win.'
Game five of the series will be back in Phoenix on Wednesday night.
