Police in Barre, Vermont found the bodies of three children who had been reported missing late Wednesday afternoon after going to play in the woods. Foul play is not suspected in their deaths.
The three children were identified as 13-year-old Justin Nutbrown, Joshua Nutbrown, age 11 and Allison Hansen, also 11.
The bodies were found at approximately 5:45 AM local time on Thursday in the Jail Branch River. A steep bank runs from the place where the children were last seen playing into the frigid waters of the Jail Branch River. It is assumed that the children slipped and fell to their deaths.
Spaulding High School delayed its opening by two hours in response to the discovery of the bodies. Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the childrens' deaths.
